Mother’s Day treats…

As mother’s day is fast approaching (although these are fab gifts for anytime of the year!) I thought I would share with you some of my favourite picks of Ladies and Mummy gift boxes. As you are all aware I love to help champion and support small brands and business, so here are my top picks for small businesses who supply these fab treats!

I have been lucky enough to be sent some fabulous gift boxes to trial and share my thoughts with you*. Here is a little about them…

Up, Over and Downunder

This small business was set up by two shopaholic sisters, who love to visit their brother in Australia and fell in love with the Aussie home wares and life accessories, hence where there name comes in! Their boxes deliver a little something different as most items sourced for their subscription and gift boxes are amazing small brands that they have found whilst out in Australia and have bought them back to the UK for us to enjoy.

They have a full shop over on their website where you can buy both individual items, or a range of one off and full subscription boxes. They sent me their February subscription box, to see what I thought.

The beautifully packaged box arrived with everything included for a relaxing girl’s night in. Including an easy reading book and book mark, a tasty bag of sweets, a drink, and some luxury bath bombs, finished off with a matching votive candle to set the mood for a pamper bath time!

All the items were beautiful and of high quality and items I would use and buy again. Apart from the Lemonade and the book all the items were made or supplied by small businesses which is great.

Generally a really nice treat to receive as a one off or once a month. This would also make a lovely gift to treat someone who needs a little pamper time. Perfect for the likes of me, being a new mum means I can’t get out the house and have any ‘me’ time without Charlie, so it brings the opportunity to me, so that I can enjoy a little pamper at home, and at £16.95 a box it’s an affordable treat.

ClubMummy

Firstly I wanted to start with, I love that £1 from every box from this small business is donated to PANDAS charity, as it is a charity close to the owner’s heart, I think that’s a wonderful thing for a small business to be supporting.

Club Mummy kindly sent me their ‘mini mummy’ December Club box. This costs £9 and they do a larger box at £18.

The box contained the essentials for any mum to sit down to a nice cuppa with, including; the tea bag and some biscuits. Then two main treats for mum. These were a luxury bath bomb and handmade candle, both from wonderful small luxurious brands.

I love everything this subscription box represents and it was a lovely treat to receive, although if I was planning to gift this to someone, if I could afford it at the time I would opt to spend that little bit more and go for the larger box. The larger box includes a fab book and an extra treat to just complete the full mummy treat.

Gerrard and Grace

I was sent the special edition ‘Motherly Love’ gift box from Gerrard and Grace and it was full of some beautiful and useful items. At £26.50 a box this is the most expensive of the gift boxes I have received, although this contained items that are everlasting so it’s easy to get your money’s worth! Also they have a special 10% discount code if you sign up to their newsletter.

Again the box arrived with beautiful packaging that really make a difference, especially if it is being sent as a gift to a loved one. The box contained; a beautiful scarf, a handy water bottle, hand cream, lip balm, a space masks eye mask, and bar of luxury milk chocolate.

The quality of all the items is amazing, and again supplied from smaller brands and businesses. The box contained a beautifully folded paper which listed all the items included and their uses and benefits which was nice touch also.

A real luxurious box which would make a fantastic gift. They also have many other types of gitboxes for every occasion on their website.

As an added bonus (whilst stocks last) Gerrard and Grace are giving away a free scarf with every order placed using the code: Buxtonlight or Buxtondark depending on if you want a light or dark coloured scarf! So head over to their website for an extra treat!
