Making a Magical Unicorn Fairy Garden…

Grace has hit that age where anything unicorn, magical or fairies grabs her attention! She has started to ask for clothes with them on, wanting books they are in and any toys that she sees needs to be prized from her vice like grip.

When I recently attended BlogOn, I had the opportunity to meet the lovely Wire PR who work on behalf of Interplay, which have created a huge range of toys, but most importantly they have created some DIY fairy and Unicorn gardens! We were lucky enough to be sent one to make up with Grace, although both Harry and Grace have had so much fun playing with it and all the wonderful little characters that came with it.

The full kit arrived with everything you need to set up a complete mini garden- apart from the soil, you need to add a little compost to the tray provided. Any opportunity or chance to get grubby is a plus for Grace so she enjoyed this part! She then sprinkled the grass seed provided into the compost and we lightly watered it.

Grace was a little too impatient to wait until the grass had grew to set up her Fairy Unicorn garden, so we set it up and are waiting for the grass to grow around her little bits now!

Grace really enjoyed putting the set together, laying down her stone path, putting together her arch and placing all her little bits, including animals, flowers, a wishing well, to make a beautiful fairy garden Scene.

When harry got home from school he was also straight into the pot playing imaginatively with the fairies and Unicorn, so im not sure how well the grass will grow now its been trampled around a bit! I think we will eventually replace the soil for a piece of artificial turf so that the fairy garden can be put in Graces bedroom and be played with anywhere, without the worry of it making a huge mess on the carpet! It then can be used all year and be also be taken out with us for extra play.

This kit has been a definite hit in our house has got everyone involved in the playing of it which is always great, also Interplay UK have a range of different Fairy gardens and accessories to choose from if your little ones have different interests, but its definitely a lovely children’s toy that we would recommend if you like to encourage a little imaginative play.

*Disclosure: We were sent this Unicorn Fairy Garden for the purpose of this review. All views are my own and Graces. Current RRP is £19.99 Thank you InterplayUK
