I thought I’d put together a little blog post to share with you all about Charlies Christening day.
Starting with- How adorably cute did how look??
We had him Christened in our local town Church, St Alkmunds in Whitchurch, it’s a beautiful church that all three children have been christened in and we also got married here, so is a special place to us.
We had a later service this time at 3pm as previously the older children were christened at midday and so the mornings had always been crazy hectic, so it was lovely to have extra time to get everyone ready at a more relaxed pace. We had a lovely little service with one other baby and then literally went a stone’s throw away to Docket no33 on the High Street for the after celebrations.
I couldn’t recommend Docket enough, the service, food and amazing drinks made the day extra special. Stuart who owns Docket is a fantastic chef who put together some lovely finger food that suited our family, friends and budget, that was also plentiful, so much so we took a couple of doggy bags home!! They even did us a range of personalised Cocktails for our guests to enjoy including ‘The Buxton Bramble’!
I had a range of decorations that the staff decorated the venue with, doing a fantastic job in transforming the venue to match our Hot Air Balloon Theme. Docket went above and beyond using some of their own decorations also that fitted our theme and adding hand grown flowers to the tables.
Overall the day went beautifully, Charlie had a lovely time, the older two children had so much fun and didn’t want the day to end, all the guests said they had a great time and Charlie was spoilt rotten in gifts and Love! So a resounding success id say!
We were kindly sent some amazing items in the run up to the Christening from some fab small businesses that I’d love to share with you also.
Firstly Designs and Daydreams made us the most beautiful Christening Invites to send out to our guests. Nothing was too much trouble and the end result was just perfect, they even included matching cupcake toppers and an A4 print to match that we displayed on the day. For any invites or party decor ideas I would highly recommend giving them a try.
The Beautiful Balloonery seriously went the extra mile for us. They make special bespoke balloons and can courier them all over the country, unfortunately on this one occasion due to a crach on the motorway the courier had let them down. This is where they really went the extra mile and hand delivered them on the morning of the Christening! Again a series of unfortunate events meant that on delivering them to the venue, John left one of the balloons in the car for a little while and the extra hot weather we have been having caused one to burst! The other balloon however looked amazing in the venue and is still bobbing around now, fully inflated 4 weeks later!!
Please consider this lovely small business if you are looking for balloons and want an amazing personal service!
Crafty Keek made Charlie the most beautiful handmade felt bunting banner, which was personalised and fitted our Hot Air Balloon Theme. She can make any design and fit any colour scheme so these buntings would make a fabulous addition to any child’s bedroom. She also makes a range of other beautiful handmade items and decorations so definitely worth a look and a follow over on Instagram!
Big Game Hunters/ The Play experts also sent us this amazing GIANT connect four that the guests had fun playing with! They make a huge range of quality games and outdoor toys, I will be posting a full blog post on this very soon!
We would just like to thank everyone who made the day so special!
