I have kindly been sent one of the Adustus Backpack bags to trial and review and let you guys know what I think. As an added bonus they have also let me run a giveaway so that one of you lovely lot can get your hands on one too! To enter please head over to my Instagram page where the competition will run until Sunday 9th December so that you can get your wonderful bag before Christmas.
I’ll start with why I think the Adjustus bag is a little different from others on the market. Firstly I love how each and every bag is hand designed from one ladies pencil sketches when she decided to begin designing handmade bags in her Grandfather’s name ‘Adjustus‘. Anyone who takes the leap to give something a go that they are passionate about I think is fabulous! They also employ a ‘family’ of workers in Kerala, south India who hand loom every piece of fabric, so the bags are not mass produced but hand crafted which takes a lot of time and traditional skill. This brand ensures the safety and well being of their staff is of utmost importance, even if that means they could of had the bags made elsewhere for cheaper, as this does not fit their ethos it is not something they would ever do.
On first impressions the bag arrived beautifully wrapped in brown paper with a tissue paper inner layer, all encased in beautiful velvet ribbon- who doesnt love to receive parcels like that?? On opening the parcel I was met with a vivid navy blue fabric that felt both soft but also really strong, and in all fairness it needs to be whilst I cart around so much stuff for the children, usually half the contents of their toy boxes!
The bag is lightweight and folds up small if needed, it has a number of zipped compartments both on the inside and out, which is always handy and important to keep everything safe. The most useful of its features is that it can be worn in two ways, it can be worn as a backpack with soft, cushioned adjustable straps, and can also be worn as a standard shoulder bag, making it easy to sling over your shoulder when needed. I love this feature as having the versatility to be worn both ways is so useful when dashing around with and after children.
I think overall this is such a lovely bag, and is only one of there huge range of beautiful handmade pieces. If you fancy your chances of winning one for yourself, pop over to my Instagram before the 9th of December to enter.
I also have the discount code: KATE to use over on the website, which will give you 20% off anything on the website up until the end of the month.
